Community Strong - Featuring The Angel Band Project

Empowered Spaces is delighted to invite you to the next Community Strong: A Yoga Class for Wellness Professionals. The goal of this trauma-informed yoga series is to build practices of self-care within relationship and community, as well as support and learn about organizations doing innovative healing work within the contexts of social justice, racial justice, and trauma.

Our next event on December 7, 2019 1:00-2:15PM will feature The Angel Band Project. The Angel Band Project's mission is to use the power of music to provide healing, raise awareness, and promote positive social change for survivors of sexual violence. Learn more

Each Community Strong event will feature one local agency. We will start with a 60-minute trauma-informed yoga class led by one of the yoga teachers at Empowered Spaces. The class will explore trauma-informed yoga as a tool for practicing nervous system awareness and regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion, and connection. Our class on November 14 will be led by Colleen Caul, 200 HR RYT, AFAA, NASM CPT, founder of InspireMovement, LLC. Learn more about Colleen at

The class will be donation-based, and 100% of donations will be given to the featured organization. Following the class, a leader from the organization will speak about how their work relates to trauma and/or social justice issues. There will be time at the end for connecting in community over snacks and drinks. As an expression of gratitude for the amazing work they are doing in our community, the featured organization will also receive a week of free drop-in yoga classes at Empowered Spaces for their staff.

The Yoga for Wellness Professionals class, as well as the drop-in classes, are for all levels, all bodies, and all people. Come exactly as you are.

We can't wait to gather with you and recognize the work being done at The Angel Band Project!
