Yoga For Healing is a donations based, weekly drop-in yoga class taught through a trauma-sensitive lens. Trauma has a large impact on the body’s physiology. For many, trauma symptoms are held in the body long after trauma has occurred. This can manifest in the body in many ways including intrusive memories, physical pain, emotional disruption and dissociation or disconnection from one’s body.
Yoga can provide an entry point at the physical level for survivors to reconnect with and reclaim their body and mind. Taught through a trauma-informed perspective, this gentle class aims to empower students to find safety and stability in the body. Through mindfulness practices, breath, and movement, we will explore tapping into our own inner resilience and strength as we reclaim, reconnect and restore body and mind.
Onsite registration. Donations based class.
This class is open to the community and all are welcome. Open to all gender identities and ability levels. Ages 16 and older.
