Led by Renee Davidson, LCSW, RYT
In this gentle practice, you will rest in stillness as you are guided to relax and renew your body, mind and soul. Each person will rest in a reclined position of their choice, with plenty of yoga props (we have many on hand at the studio) so it is extremely gentle on the body. No previous yoga or meditation experience required.
Yoga Nidra means “yogic sleep” and it is a practice of encouraging deep stillness in the body and mind. In this practice, we are essentially resting all of our energies and senses to nourish and renew ourselves. The Sanskrit term for this is Pratyahara. If you have ever experienced this before, you know how relaxing and healing it is. If you haven’t, well, you soon will. All you need to do is email or text Renee Davidson to reserve your spot. Pre-registration is required.
Our time together will include a short introduction to Renee and the group that has gathered for this practice. Once we all have made a comfortable place to rest, a brief description of the practice stages will be given: relaxation, intention, rotation of awareness, easy breathing, inner experience, visualization, awakening. After we have finished, there will be some time for silent reflection, journaling/drawing, or sharing only if you would like.
Cost: $25 (cash, check, or credit / debit accepted at the studio).
