Led by Savannah Carlson, PT, DPT, RYT-200 (she/her)

Welcome to a yoga experience designed to invite you into a sweeter relationship with yourself.

Throughout each class, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to your body’s cues, cultivate your mind-spirit-body connection, and give yourself permission to move (or not move!) in a way that brings you peace and pleasure.

This yoga series will use gentle yoga, breath work, and meditation as methods to nurture and befriend your one and only self.

We will also hold space for the many intersectional experiences that cause division within ourselves, such as systemic racism, sexism, and trauma. These experiences and their effects are not packages we can simply “leave at the door.” They are part of us, but through intentional healing processes, we can ensure they do not hold power over us.

This yoga series offers yet another practice to support you in your unique healing journey.

Love in Motion is open to all levels of yoga experience. Supportive props are encouraged throughout, and numerous variations of each shape will be offered. You can expect soft lighting, soothing music, and a welcoming environment.

Sixty percent of the proceeds from this class will go to the Rhea Physical Therapy Community Fund, which provides financial support to individuals seeking pelvic health physical therapy. You can learn more about Rhea Physical Therapy and the Community Fund here.

Meet Savannah

Yoga Instructor, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, Pelvic Health Advocate

My journey to becoming a yoga instructor and physical therapist began nearly ten years ago. I was a freshman in college when I found myself laughing, sweating, and stumbling through a yoga class at YogaOasis in Tucson, Arizona. That first class started me on a path of constant self-discovery, as well as a long road of study to eventually become a doctor of physical therapy.

Now, I am a pelvic floor physical therapist, pelvic health advocate, and yoga instructor. I earned my 200 hour registered yoga teacher certification at YogaOasis in 2015. In 2018, my partner and I moved to St. Louis so I could complete my physical therapy degree at Washington University. I now run my own practice, Rhea Physical Therapy, where I provide pelvic floor PT in the comfort and privacy of my clients’ homes.

Over the years, my yoga practice has shifted from one of pushing my boundaries to one of honoring them. As I made this transition, I began to seek out a softer side of yoga. I also began to explore the intersection of yoga, mental wellness, social justice, and feminism. These inquiries led me to All Bodies Rise Yoga.

All Bodies Rise is a community of yoga practitioners and instructors that place mental health, social justice, and body positivity at the center of yoga practice. It is a trauma-informed practice that strives to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of their race, size, gender, ability, financial means, age, or any other identity. When I found All Bodies Rise Yoga, I knew I had found the right practice for me. I became an All Bodies Rise Yoga instructor in 2018.

Today, I offer yoga classes that are gentle and soothing. The purpose of each class is to invite the practitioner into a place of safety, calm, and pleasure in their body. Every cue is a suggestion, rather than a command, and every shape comes with a range of variations to support the needs of each individual.

My hope is that you feel confident in showing up as your whole self, whoever that may be and with whatever you might be going through. I believe that embracing the needs and desires of your heart and your body is a radical act. In my yoga classes, that is exactly what I invite you to do. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you where you are.
