Professional Consultation
Clinical Supervision
We think healing begins at the root level. All of our care is done through a holistic, embodied, trauma-informed lens. We work with the nervous system through somatic and integrative approaches.
We are Values-Based and Purpose-Driven
We work at the intersection of trauma-informed care and justice. Our services are guided by our mission, vision, and values. That means we view psychotherapy and wellness services as relational and collaborative work that has the power to heal trauma and promote health and resilience on both the personal and collective level. We strive to provide equitable, accessible, inclusive offerings where people of all backgrounds can receive the support they need to heal the body and mind.
We are different from a lot of other clinics or centers because we prioritize consent and inclusion, and we pay attention to how the systems, structures, social norms, and institutions have shaped your life and your health.
We take your lived experience and your identity seriously. We prioritize inclusion and build it into how we do our work and how our spaces are structured.
If you've ever been hesitant to go to a yoga class because you don't have “the yoga body”, you won't find that here - you're welcome here.
If you've ever been hesitant to go to a class because you're not sure if your gender identity is welcome - you're welcome here.
If you've ever felt like your therapist was abstracting out of your lived reality and didn't get your life - we do therapy through a feminist, integrative approach here and strive to honor your lived experience.
a little more about US
Founded in April 2018 by Kelly Caul, MSW, LCSW, SEP (she/her), Empowered Spaces is a collective of integrative psychotherapists, trauma specialists, licensed massage therapists, yoga teachers, yoga therapists, meditation teachers, activists and other wellness professionals within a collaborative healing center.
Our work is informed by neuroscience, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), Buddhist Psychology, and Yogic Philosophy.
As a collective, we are committed to shared visions of trauma-informed and resilience-focused care, embodied healing, community empowerment, anti-racist solidarities, and social justice. We are united by our passion to helping to cultivate a healthy, resilient, empowered, and liberated community.
We believe that everyone deserves access to the health and healing services that they need to lead an empowered, authentic, creative, connected, and joyful life.
We know that all individuals are on their own path towards healing, and that both individual and collective healing happens in relationship.
Each teacher/provider runs their own business within Empowered Spaces. All of our offerings therefore have their own fee and sign up structure established by each individual provider. Find the class or workshop that you would like to join from our schedule of offerings, and then follow the specified registration process.
Our mission is to cultivate and promote connection, resilience, and healing through specialized, trauma-informed, integrative mental health and wellness services that are accessible, equitable, gender affirming, and cultivate a culture of care and belonging.
We are committed to holding brave and empowering spaces for both personal and collective healing and transformation.
We are redefining what it means to be in authentic community, to embody wisdom, and to reclaim one’s wholeness, all the while working for greater social change and a just world.
Our Mission
Our Vision
Our vision is to collectively create a more mindful, equitable, compassionate, beautiful world that will honor our interdependence, celebrate our diversity, and allow for everyone to live a life of joy and wellness.
Our Values
INHERENT DIGNITY & FUNDAMENTAL BELONGING
We believe there is inherent wholeness, wisdom, and strength in every human being.
We are here to celebrate, amplify, and uplift your dignity.
We want you to feel loved, seen, valued, and understood for exactly who you are.
We believe that everyone belongs, and that all parts of you belong.
We believe in building embodied, attuned, intentional community.
We strive to approach everyone with curiosity, compassion, and care.
We believe in and are committed to working towards a world that will respect, honor, and take care of everyone.
EMBODIED HEALING
We take an integrative, mindbody approach to healing that bridges the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of well-being.
We work with the impact of trauma holistically. We recognize that trauma lives in the body, and support you in restoring a sense of safety and trust in your body.
We offer health and wellness services that go to the root of the issue, heal at the level of the nervous system, and provide lasting embodied transformation.
We know that everyone has an inherent capacity to heal, and that healing and transformation is possible for everyone.
EMPOWERMENT & SELF-DETERMINATION
We celebrate your right to choice, self-determination, bodily-autonomy, and sacred sovereignty.
We want you to show up in your POWER, and feel capable and inspired to make decisions that are in alignment with what you need and what you value.
We believe that through conscious-informed choices, you can ease discomforts, heal inner hurts, improve well-being and create radical change in our world.
ANTI-OPPRESION & JUSTICE-FOCUSED
We understand how oppression causes harm and trauma to your physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing; and we actively work to challenge and dismantle these oppressive systems and structures in the larger cultures – as well as in every aspect of our practice and the way we do this work.
We know that none of us can truly be well until we are all well.
We pay attention to how the larger systems, structures, social norms and institutions shape your life and your health.
We are deeply committed to holding space and attuned presence for acknowledging and healing inherited shadows of racism, sexism, cis-heteronormativity, ableism, colonization, and unfair access to power and privilege.
RELATIONSHIP
Relationship is at the core of everything we do, and we know that healing and transformation happen in and through relationship.
We are committed to co-creating a space for deepening connections within, and with one another.
We prioritize building trust and cultivating safety. We are committed to the practice of curiosity, vulnerability, transparency, reciprocity, and accountability.
We hold brave space for the hard conversations.
We prioritize sustainability and mutual care.
CULTURAL HUMILITY
We believe in honoring every individual’s lived experience, deeply listening to one another, learning about and respecting all diverse cultural identities and values.
We strive to cultivate spaces of safety, shared power, collaboration, and mutual respect.
We work to recognize our own power and privilege, examine our own biases, and work to challenge and change the inequity and injustices that exist in our world.
COLLECTIVE HEALING, TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE, & LIBERATION
We know that personal and collective healing are deeply interconnected.
We know that the work towards healing, social change, and justice cannot be separated.
We offer holistic, integrative, trauma-informed care because we are committed to the healing process being one that feels safe, compassionate and empowering.
We are here to hold space for deepening connections, building community, and transformational healing.

We Believe
There is inherent wholeness, wisdom, and strength in every human being.
We know trauma impacts individuals – our bodies, our minds, our spirit, and our communities. To be human is to know struggle – to feel pain, disconnection and disempowerment. We believe that to be human is also to know great joy, transformation, and power.
We believe that through conscious-informed choices, you can ease discomforts, heal inner hurts, improve well-being and create radical change in our world.
We believe in creating a space in which a shared authentic experience is lived and honored together, while holding space for individual experiences to unfold within the group.
We believe in building embodied, attuned, accountable community.
We believe in gathering in community and connecting across all differences.
We believe in giving back.
We believe in holding space for one another. We honor every part of you, every step of the way. It is your experience. Your choice. Your body. Your practice.
We believe that learning is never over for any of us. We are always growing, ever evolving. We will make mistakes, we will focus on the repair.
We believe in honoring every individual’s lived experience - deeply listening to one another, learning about and honoring our differences. We recognize the impact we have on one another.
We believe in individual and collective healing and transformation.
We believe that to honor our oneness we must take a stand, recognize our own power and privilege, and work to change the inequity and inequality that exists in our world.
We believe in and are committed to working towards a world that will respect, honor, and take care of everyone.
We believe that yoga is a practice of self-inquiry, self-exploration, self-care, creativity, self-love, and compassionate action. A practice of compassionate, empowered, and present moment-focused yoga generates an internal sense of safety and personal agency, while also helping to develop self-awareness and self-regulation.
