REMEMBER TO CENTER CARE

By: Kelly Caul, MSW, LCSW, SEP

Are you feeling rested? Is your heart feeling open? As a global community we have been living through so much the past few years. We don’t fully realize the impact of a stressor/crisis until we are on the other side of it, and we are still in this. Even though dominant culture tells us to push forward, keep going, act as if all is “back to normal”, and ignore what is going on around us - we can remember to pay attention.

We can remember to feel, we can remember to turn towards one another, we can remember to center care.

Your ability to show up in the world as your most brilliant, purposeful, and caring self is deeply interdependent with your ability to take care of yourself as well.

So as we continue to meet 2o22,

💜 remember that it is more than okay to adjust the expectations that you hold for yourself.

💜remember that it is more than okay to have less energy.

💜remember that it is more than okay to not feel okay.

💜remember that it is more than okay to take a break.

💜remember that it is more than okay to not push yourself.

💜remember that it is more than okay to ask for help.

💜remember that it is more than okay to slow down and receive rest.

💜remember that it is more than okay to orient towards the people and things in life that feel nourishing, supportive, and safe.

💜remember that it is more than okay to listen to and care for your own needs.

Remember that there is community here and you don't have to do it alone.
With love and care,
Kelly (she/her)
