Returning to Our Values
The world needs us to be paying attention right now. The more intense things become, the more we need to find ways to stay resourced so that we can show up and be a part of creating something new.
When things get overwhelming, one of the ways we remain resourced is by returning to our values and the commitments we can make to putting those values into action.
As a collective at Empowered Spaces we are committed to co-creating a community of healing - a trauma-informed, empowering, equitable, gender-affirming, and anti-racist community of healing.
We are rooted in the belief that as humans it is our sacred responsibility to one another and to this planet to cultivate a culture of care and belonging. We believe in gathering in community, showing up in solidarity, and connecting across lines of differences. We believe that intentional, compassionate, mutual care can be an antidote for suffering.
These values invite us into a daily practice of consciously choosing how we want to be in relationship with ourselves, with one another, and with this planet. These values invite us into a daily practice of putting compassion and belonging into action.
To this end, we are committed to both the inner healing work and the outer healing work - knowing that the inner and outer work is deeply interconnected and interdependent. As Rev angel Kyodo williams says, "without inner change there can be no other change. Without collective change, no change matters".
