Rachel Jones 500hr RYT (she/her)
Yoga Therapist, Educator, & Psychology and Trauma Studies B.S., Advisory Circle Member
I have been a participant and student of the healing process for many years. My learning continues through study as well as witnessing the communities I serve. While I am fascinated by the innate human ability to self-heal, I am also passionate about finding solutions in our greater communities in order to live and operate in systems that can better foster healing.
In 2017 I embarked on a 200 RYT program and began my journey as a teacher of self-study, movement and self-healing. Since then I have completed a 500 RYT, began a 4 year program as a Yoga Therapist, and studied both formally and informally the sciences Psychology and Trauma Studies.
As my practice evolved, I gained the opportunity to work full time in the behavioral health setting as a Wellness Guide at a recovery center primarily working with those recovering from Substance Use Disorder. During my two years here, I designed and facilitated a Trauma Informed Yoga Program as well as Wellness Education Programming. While I deeply loved this work, it was a reminder of the larger systemic issues and lack of collective education around healing that I was drawn to pursue.
Today I offer individual Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy sessions. This work takes into account all aspects of the human system in order to address movement imbalances, disease, mental suffering, and spiritual inquiry.
One of my biggest passions is offering education on the intersection of Polyvagal Theory, trauma, and both yogic philosophy and practices. With this work I hope to drive awareness and conversation of what trauma and healing looks like not only on a personal level but also what it could look like for our wider communities.
In addition to these offerings, I teach group sessions on movement, meditation, and self study.
