Spring Equinox Yoga: An Evening of Awakening & Renewal

Monday, March 20th

6:30-8:00pm CT

Hybrid: In-Person + Virtual

Led by Erin Vehige (she/her)

Join Erin with PureENV Yoga & Reiki for a 90-minute, trauma-informed, gentle and restorative yoga class infused with Holy Fire Reiki energy to contemplate the season of rebirth, renewal and new beginnings.

Let’s let the soft animal of our bodies feel the balance of the equinox and begin to gently awaken from our winter slumber to the coming of life renewed in the spring.

This poem by Poet Laureate Ada Límon speaks on the gentle and slow acceptance of allowing life to open as it comes. Speaking to both the difficult and the simple, Límon examines the beauty of embracing all that life offers not as an abrupt act or sharp change of pace and mind, but as a gentle and tender leaning in to the softening of hope and resilience.

“Instructions on Not Giving Up”

Ada Limón, 2017

More than the fuchsia funnels breaking out

of the crabapple tree, more than the neighbor’s

almost obscene display of cherry limbs shoving

their cotton candy-colored blossoms to the slate

sky of Spring rains, it’s the greening of the trees

that really gets to me. When all the shock of white

and taffy, the world’s baubles and trinkets, leave

the pavement strewn with the confetti of aftermath,

the leaves come. Patient, plodding, a green skin

growing over whatever winter did to us, a return

to the strange idea of continuous living despite

the mess of us, the hurt, the empty. Fine then,

I’ll take it, the tree seems to say, a new slick leaf

unfurling like a fist to an open palm, I’ll take it all.
