Class Description

Join us for Sustaining Support: A Gentle Yoga Series for Helpers and Healers. All those who dedicate their work to providing and holding space for others, and/or those who find themselves in a season of caregiving are welcomed here to rest.

This beginner-friendly series encourages us all to start where we are with what we have.

It is designed to be a landing space to empower and energize our tender hearts, find strength in stillness, and build a reservoir of resilience through practices of movement, mindful pausing, and circle discussion.

Each 90-minute session will open with a centering meditation and gentle stretching to facilitate clarity of the mind and embodied emotion. Afterward, we will engage in heartfelt conversations over shared experiences, and take time for self-inquiry and curiosity over what the movement may have stirred to the surface. To close, blankets, bolsters, and other restorative props will hold us well for quiet renewal and rediscovered peace.

Over the course of four weeks, we will journey together to recharge and reconnect, cultivating a sense of harmony between meeting our own needs and those of our community.

Equity Pricing

At Empowered Spaces we value community care, we are committed to making our offerings accessible, and we believe in leveraging our privilege and resources when we can in order to support one another. This Equity Pricing Scale acknowledges that as a result of systemic injustice our ability to pay for services, and access those services, varies. Choosing a rate that is accessible and meaningful is a justice-oriented practice that honors our interconnectedness.

Sustainer Rate - "I can pay my way" - ($100) full series / ($25) per class

Supporter Rate - "I can help support my community" - ($140) full series / ($35) per class

Community Rate - "I can use support from my community" - ($60) full series/ ($15) per class

Empowered Spaces is committed to doing everything possible to make offerings accessible to everyone. To inquire about the Empowered Spaces Equity Scholarship please contact Kelly at kkcaul@yahoo.com.

Meet Alicia

Alicia Delaney (E-RYT 200, YACEP) is passionate about co-creating community spaces devoted to deep rest. A natural nurturer and teacher, she is steeped in the work of helping others sustain more pause in their busy lives and make their lives less busy in the process. Alicia’s nervous system-informed understanding of yoga and body-based mindfulness lend her offerings a consistent quality of gentleness. Her class atmosphere matches her spirit: open, affirming, and easy-going, holding space for students to tenderly meet themselves with compassion and grace again and again and again.

Alicia’s mission is to guide students toward ease and delight in their bodies through relaxed pacing, open-choice sequencing, and invitational language. When practicing together, you can expect room for contemplation, curiosity, and movement with very little sweat. Her classes are an exploration of all things slow and simple, an opportunity to step out of our habits of rushing and performance so we can really hear what our bodies have to teach us. By cultivating this reverence toward and trust in the self, we become equipped to connect with the wisdom and power that resides in us all.

Always seeking out the medicine of rest and ways to share it with the world, Alicia has studied with internationally-renowned yoga therapist, Jillian Pransky, is attuned as an Usui Reiki practitioner, holds certification as a yoga nidra guide from the Shiva Shakti School of Yoga & Healing Arts, and is trained in the modality of Hot Stone Restorative Yoga and its applications for deeper states of ease.
