Rooting Empowered Connections

Join us for a day of somatic and healing offerings, demonstrations, and community connection.

This community event is your chance to explore our beautiful space, cultivate connections with other like-hearted individuals, and discover how we can support you on your journey to healing and empowerment.

Whether you're looking to get to know more about Empowered Spaces, connect with other like-hearted practitioners, learn more about trauma-informed and somatic offerings and approaches to healing, or simply be inspired, this event is for you.

This is a family friendly event so please feel free to bring your kiddos! We will have a Kids Korner with activities for them to enjoy as well. 

Take a walk through our Community Garden, try out a yoga or meditation offering, join in on a community art project, take in a gardening demonstration, or just visit with us!

Come and see firsthand how our community is dedicated to fostering healing, growth, and a culture of care and belonging. We can't wait to welcome you!

Gratitude

Forest & Meadow is a modern-day herbal apothecary and wellness clinic in St. Louis, MO staffed by passionate and knowledgeable herbalists. We carry over 250 organic, ethically wildcrafted, and naturally farmed bulk herbs and spices, as well as a variety of herbal teas, extracts, syrups, salves, bitters, shrubs, tonics, bath soaks, essential oils, and more, all expertly formulated by a clinically-trained herbalist and handcrafted in house to support your health, well-being, and vitality. In our clinic, we offer herbal medicine consultations, Maya abdominal therapy, fertility awareness method education, natural fertility support, massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, craniosacral therapy, Feldenkrais lessons, and mental health therapy.

Schedule of Free Offerings

In the Studio

To attend one of our free offerings in the studio sign up upon arrival at the open house.

11:15 - 11:40 AM - Grounding & Awareness Expansion Practice w/ Franca (she/her)

Join Franca for a 25 - minute somatic grounding and awareness expansion practice. During this practice we will explore the principle of presence; to and with ourselves, our shared physical space, and perhaps one another. We will practice this by connecting with our feeling body, also known as our senses. This offering will include a mindfulness meditation as well as some gentle guided movement. We will begin by sharing our names, pronouns with one another, as well as the invitation to share a descriptive to how you are coming into the space. There will be the opportunity to share or ask questions at the end, whether this be in the studio space or out in the patio/ garden area.

11:55am - 12:15pm Guided Savasana Yoga Session w/ Erin (she/her)

12:30 - 12:55pm - Grounding through Yoga w/ Laurie (she/her)

Connect with yourself and the grounding nature of the earth through this practice of yoga and meditation. We will practice steadying breath work, move through a gentle and simple flow of grounding seated and standing yoga shapes, and center with meditation. Options for a mat-based or chair-based practice will be given. Those with all levels of experience with yoga are welcome. Many choices will be offered throughout the practice, and you will be encouraged to move in a way and at a pace that is accessible to you.

1:10 - 1:30pm - Crystal Soundbowl Bath w/ Deanna (they/them)

1:45 - 2:10pm - Somatic Bodywork Session for Aches & Pains w/ Rachel (they/she)

Join Rachel to learn how to care for your self through bodywork practices. In this 25 minute offfering, you'll learn how to tune into sensation, use myofascial tools, and apply movements for common aches and pains.

2:25 - 2:45pm - Grounding Hot Stone Meditation w/ Alicia (she/her)

The warmth and weight of basalt stones are yours to explore in this guided meditation. The stones (heated to 130-140F) will serve as a personal sensory tool for grounding into the present moment. You'll have full choice over where and how you place the stones on your body for deepened connection to yourself and to the earth. As a quick mid-day reset, meditation guidance will include gentle attention to the breath and cues for relaxation.

Community Art project

Our Community Art Project will be happening the duration of the Open House on the lawn.

heARTful Community Windsock Streamer w/ Renee (she/they)

Come help heARTful wellness create a community art piece during our open house. Write or draw what empowerment means for Self and community on fabric and ribbon strips. Our collective ideas will be displayed as a ribbon windsock streamer in our community garden.

Kids Korner

Our Kids Korner will be happening the duration of the Open House. This is a space for our kids and the creative parts of ourselves to come to play and create!

  1. heARTful wellness mindful coloring time

    For humans all ages! Enjoy some mindful coloring with designs created by heARTful wellness

  2. Blooming Empowerment Garden

    Draw your own unique flower/plant on a popsicle stick and write a word that makes you feel strong. Plant your own "flower" in our designated EMPOWERING Spaces blooming Empowerment Garden space. 

  3. Empowerment Cranes

    Write or draw a wish you have for the EMPOWERED Spaces community on a pre-folded crane. Pin it on EMPOWERED Spaces clothesline to share your wish with us. 

Parking

Please park in our 10-car parking lot adjacent to the studio, or along the public streets, with courtesy to our neighbors! Please DO NOT park on Exeter between Big Bend Blvd and Suffolk Ave. There is additional free parking available at Notion’s parking lot at 7616 Big Bend Blvd. A big thank you to our friends at Notion for sharing their parking lot with us!

Health and Safety Precautions

To be in the practice of collective care and showing up for one another, masks will be required in doors. We will have extra masks available if needed.

Accessibility

The Empowered Spaces yoga studio is located on the ground floor. Empowered Spaces is wheelchair accessible with an ADA, all gender restroom on site. Masking will be required in all indoor spaces (extra masks will be on hand). Please reach out to Kelly kkcaul@yahoo.com if there is anything more we can do to make our offerings more accessible.
