Earth Body Care

Saturday, August 3, 9:00 - 10:30 am

Led by Rachel Tate (they/she)

A group class created for people who want to engage in a practice that doesn’t push them past their limits.

Description

If you experience chronic pain, limited movement, and/or are recovering from an injury, this class was designed with you in mind.

Join me in a group setting to take care of your earth body in gentle and mindful ways in response to the season.

With focus on sensation and experience, there will be invitation to connect with self through tender bodywork, exploratory shapes, and meditative movement among other somatic practices aimed at supporting the individual through a body based practice.

Throughout each class you will be encouraged to listen to your body and adapt your participation when needed. This method of learning centers choice, relationship to body, and self trust. This means, you are welcome to take care in a way that meets your needs in each moment. This can look like resting, stepping out of the studio, or engaging with a different part of the practice that feels more accessible.

Earth Body Care is inspired by:

  • Somatic movement concepts

  • Functional and developmental movement patterns

  • Bodywork methods rooted in fascial health and neural connection

  • Seasonal cycles and cosmic timing

“Rachel teaches in a playful, relaxed, and supportive way. As a yoga teacher myself it was refreshing to step into the role of student and have someone hold space for me to tend to my body’s needs with warmth and non-judgement”

“I really, really loved this class! I found that spending time exploring movement each week with Rachel’s guidance and group support has helped prioritize doing the same in my daily self-care practice. I’ve learned some effective resources that I’ll be able to take with me moving forward. I also really appreciated how accessible, fun and down to earth this class felt!”

Meet Rachel

Massage therapist and Movement Guide

For nearly 15 years, I have been working as a health and wellness professional serving various communities. Within my experience as a provider and patient, I have developed the ability to create comforting environments that invite regulation, supported by various tools and resources. In each space I hold, I seek to meet the individuals in my community where they are, in each moment.

As a massage therapist & movement guide, I believe the core of why I do this work is to develop supportive connections with others, earth, and myself. Stemming from my value in relationship, is my great curiosity and interest in how our bodies function and experience life on this planet.

I aim to support others in the ongoing journey of self and communal connection. I am especially passionate about fostering the relationship to our earth body, and enjoy sharing tools and resources to enhance personal rituals. Through my ever evolving practice and continuing education, I strive to consistently develop and offer quality care for those I have the privilege of communing with.
