ME-yama Yoga Series: A Journey to Self Love

Sundays 3:00 - 4:00 PM

September 3 - October 1

Led by Krystle “Kryssi” Crayton-Day (she/her/hers)

Founder of : Majestic Rhose Yoga & Wellness

CLASS DESCRIPTION:

“You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” - Buddha

You are officially invited on a journey of self-love. In this 5-week series, we will explore ways to love and accept ourselves as-is as inspired by the niyamas. This trauma-informed yoga series was created for anyone with breath in their body.

Yoga is the union of mind, body, and spirit. In each class, you will be invited to settle in on your mat and connect with yourself. You will be lead through a warm up and affirming physical practice on your way to a reflective savasana. Following the physical practice, you will be invited to reflect in your journal and connect with your instructor and fellow practitioners.

During your practice, you are encouraged to listen to your body and do whatever movement feels good to you. Every shape, every movement, is a suggestion. You are not expected to look a certain way, and being “flexible enough” is not a concern. The instructor is only a guide in your personal yoga practice. Your mat is your sacred space meant to be used as you see fit.

This series, in particular, will focus on cultivating love for yourself from within yourself as inspired by the niyamas.

Each day of the series will focus on one of the niyamas.

Day 1 - Saucha: Cleanliness

Day 2 - Santosha: Contentment

Day 3 - Tapas: Self-Discipline

Day 4 - Svadhyaya: Self-Study

Day 5 - Ishvara Pranidhana: Surrender

Yoga mats, blocks, blankets, cushions and chairs are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Meet Kryssi

I am a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance and earned my yoga teacher certification through Breathe For Change in March of 2023. Also through Breathe For Change, I earned a Social Emotional Learning Facilitator certification. I focus on yoga that is trauma-informed, equitable, accessible, community-based, and healing. In my classes, I emphasize and implement the belief that yoga is for everybody in every body. Every asana is optional and I encourage you to listen to what your body needs in each moment. I am here to offer a brave space for your practice and to guide you during your journey on your mat.
